The number of startups has continued to grow over the years but only a few succeed, as a reported 90% of startups fail. With such a high failure rate, I was curious as to what types of startups investors were funding and if there were any trends among these investments. I obtained a spreadsheet of startup investment data via Crunchbase with the goal of analyzing startups by the amount raised to see where investors were putting their money. The data available is from 2014. The following is an analysis of the data.
